The Indian Police has been functioning under the"Police Act of 1861" in the post independence era.The last few years have witnessed concerted efforts to reform the Policing System in India through 'the enactment of a new Police Act' on the recommendations of Soli Sorabjee committee and through the intervention of the Supreme Court of India.
In recent times,Ruchika Girhotra molestation case has seen the dust being wiped off the Police Reform proposala including some suggesting to 'setting up tough Performance criteria for Police cops dealing with crimes related to Rape,Dowry deaths,Acid attacks,Molestation,Sexual Harassment and Intimidation.
The view that there is a need for some specific initiatives that would quicken the'Criminal - Judicial System' as a whole has gained some traction.
The Ruchika Girhotra molestation case has created an urgent need for Police Reforms because of the'shocking revalations that 'how the former DGP of Haryana,Mr SPS Rathore,manipulated the Policing System with obvious Political blessings to harass Ruchika and her family members after molesting the 14 year old Ruchika'.
This is absolutely shocking & DISGUSTING!
Here I would like to say that Ruchika Girhotra's family's travail has indeed created a need for self introspection by the entire Policing System as well as has also created a fresh impetus for the'Government of India' to initiate on an urgent basis 'People friendly Police Reforms'.

My Role Model & Mother Teresa
I remember,a long time back in the year 1997,when I had gone to meet Mrs Malika Sanghvi(wife of Mr Vir Sanghvi) at "Times of India" office in Mumbai option,I carried a book on 'Mother Teresa' as a gift for Mrs Malika Sanghvi.
At that point of time Mrs Malvika Sanghvi was working as 'Resident Editor,Bombay Times,Times of India'.
I had been introduced to Mrs Malvika Sanghvi by a journalist whose name is Cyrus Merchant.At that point of time,Mrs Bacchi Karkaria was also located in the Mumbai option office of Times Of India.
As I reached the TOI office,I saw Mrs Malika Sanghvi getting into the lift of her office.
I ran upto her and said"Good Morning Madam.How are you?".Mrs Sanghvi said,"Anupam,please come with me in the lift".I complied with her wishes and got inside the lift along with Mrs Sanghvi.
Mrs Sanghvi asked me"How are you,Anupam".To which I replied absolutely fine Madam.And then I said,'Madam,there is a small gift for you".Mrs Sanghvi took it from me and removed the wrap from the gift and excitedly said,'Thank you Anupam.I wanted my son to read a book on Mother Teresa".
As we got out of the lift and entered her office cabin,Mrs Malvika Sanghvi asked me"Anupam,is Mother Teresa your Role Model?".And my reply was "Yeah Madam,Mother Teresa is my Role Model".
In fact,all the women I meet,I try to investigate as a Corporate Human Resourece person whether they have even an iota of 'Mother Teresa's qualities".
And sadly enough very few 'women have even an iota of Mother Teresa's qualities'.
This bring me to a bigger & a more significant question which I want to ask the readers of my blog.
Who is your Role Model?.Whom would you like to imitate?. Whose footsteps would you like to follow?.Whose words resonate in your mind and guide your critical decisions?.
Is it a sports person?.Is it a Hollywood or Bollywood movie star?.Is it a Politician or a political stateman?.
Who is it?.Think Hard!And tell me about your Role Model.
As far as I am concerned,my role model in today's modern times is 'a combination of Mr Rajeev Gandhi(the late Prime Minister of India),Mr Atal Bihari Vajpayee(former Prime Minister of India),Mr Barrack Obama(the President of USA),Mother Teresa,and Mr Nitish Kumar(the present Chief Minister of Bihar).
My Role Model definitely & certainly cannot be Mr Bill Clinton of Monica Lewinsky fame,Mr Lalu Prasad yadav option of Fodder Scam fame,and corrupt and greedy politicians like Mulayam Singh yadav option & Mayawati option.
For me,in essence,the epitome of my Role Model is "Mother Teresa" because I admire her"courage and her emotional maturity,emotional intelligence and her emotional strength to be selfless".
Political leaders of numerous countries,prestigious universities and organizations received uncompromising challenges from her on issues of"Human rights,chastity,respect for the unborn and the impoverished".
Mother Teresa knew that there was nothing lasting about the material possessions(food,clothing,car and houses) which the greedy & selfish people strive for and in a selfish way cling to.
In fact,Mother Teresa was quick to point out that "some of the richest people of the world are the most spiritually poor people".
Mother Teresa,more than any one else,inspired me to 'feed spiritually poor & hungry people with a sense of selfless attitude".
Mother Teresa practised what she preached.Moreover,most of the times,Mother Teresa did not even need to preach with words because her selfless practices were "loud & clear".
Friends,I am so impressed with " Mother Teresa" that I would like"My Dream girl or my would be life partner" to have the humane qualities of 'Mother Teresa".
Yeah ideed,it would be great to have 'somebody as my life partner who has the selfless attitude of Mother Teresa'.

20th August is my Birthday.
Yeah friends, 2oth August is my birthday.My father & mother gave birth to me on 20th August.
Today,I called up Additional Commissioner of Police(Crime) as well as Director Prison(Tihar Jail) for an appointment option to discuss about high profile criminal options & fraud options lodged in Tihar jail for my book on "Crime & Criminal Options".
I hope that I am given appointment option by them on any day in the near future at 4 PM in the evening.
I have also sought appointment option with CBI director to discuss a few critical issues which has come to my attention(About those issues,I have mentioned significant details in my earlier blogs).
I started writing my book on "Crime & Criminal option" way back in 2007.At that point of time,I was in touch Mr UK Katna(Special Commissioner Intelligence,Delhi Police) for my book on"Crime & Criminal option".
Mr Katna was investigating the high profile Shivani Bhatnagar Murder case,Jessica Lal Murder case,Miss Mattoo's murder case and Nitish Katara murder case.
I was in touch with Mr Katna through email as well as through my cell phone number 9871806386.
On Jan 26,2007,I got a telephone call from NDTV on my cell phone number 9871806386 that they wanted to invite me for their program"We the People".And for this,they wanted me to come to'Lakshmi Studio,Sector 16 A,Noida".
In the begining,I refused the invitation of NDTV because I felt that I am too insignificant person to be invited by them for their program"We the people".
However,the NDTV people must have called me 100 times atleast(Please check my call details of the delhi number 9871806386) to make me accept their invitation.At last,I accepted their invitation and requested the NDTV people to send a formal email invitation on my email id anupamsinha12001@yahoo.co.in.
On 26th Jan,2007,at 6.30pm(in the evening) as I tried to open my email id,I realized that my email id anupamsinha12001@yahoo.co.in had been hacked.
If you recollect,you would remember that 26th of Jan,2007,was a friday.And therefore,26th of Jan,2007,being a'Republic Day of India was a holiday'.I could not have filed a FIR for the hacking of my email id anupamsinha12001@yahoo.co.in on 26th of Jan,2007.
As a last resort,I called up Mr UK Katna for advise.Mr Katna was considerate enough to give me the cell phone number of Mr S D Mishra(who was ACP,Cyber Crime Cell,at that point of time).
Subsequently,I spoke to Mr SD Mishra on his cell phone number 9868119898 and informed him that my email id anupamsinha12001@yahoo.co.in had been hacked at 6.30pm on 26th of Jan,2007.
Mr S D Mishra politely asked to come to his office on 29th of Jan,2007,to file an FIR for the hacking of my email id anupamsinha12001@yahoo.co.in.
On 29th of Jan,2007,at 12.30pm I filed a FIR for the hacking of my email id anupamsinha12001@yahoo.co.in on 26th of Jan,2007.
Mr SD Mishra promised to act upon my FIR.On 6th of Feb,2007,Mr SD Mishra called me on my cell phone number 9871806386 and told me that because of 'loopholes in the cyber laws,'he would not be in a position to initiate action against the hacker of my email id anupamsinha12001@yahoo.co.in.

Today,as usual,when I spoke to my Dad & Mom over the Cell phone at Patna(Bihar),my Dad & Mom advised me to take proper care of my health. They said,"Anupam,please,protect yourself against Dengue mosquitoes".
Having understood the concern of my retired Dad & Mom,I assured them that I am taking proper proactive hygienic sanitation precautions at my rental accomodation in GK-I,New-Delhi.
After talking to my Dad & Mom,as I came out for going to my workplace,I realized that it was raining heavily and the entire road outside my rental abode was deluged with knee deep water.
And my instant reaction was,"Oh! my God how will I go".
This Pathetic & appalling infrastructure condition made me think about 'the poor state of MCD'.
But then what can MCD do!.
The basic reason for these infrastructural problem is "Population Explosion".
The other day,I was informed by somebody that the total population of India in 2010 is 1,198,003,000.Out of which 27% of the population reside in urban areas.
There are about 4000 cities & towns in India.And about 300 cities have a population of over 1,00,000.
Mumbai option ranks as third most populated city after Tokyo and Mexico.Kolkata is ranked 9th and New-Delhi is ranked 14th in terms of being the most populated city.
The population of India in 1962 was 454,584,900.And in 2010 the population of India is 1,198,003,000.
The rate at which the population of India is increasing,the total population of India would overtake the total population of China by 2030.
Isn't it shocking!
Of course,it is!And government of India should initiate measures to considerably bring down the rate of growth in population.
And if the government of India manages to tackle the 'problem of population explosion then the problems related to Inflation & Unemployment would be taken care of automatically.
So the moral of the story is, please take care of population explosion.If you are able to tackle this menace,the problem of 'Inflation,shortage of food grains,and the issue of Unemployment would get addressed automatically".

Lage Raho Suresh Kalmadi
Yesterday,I was watching Rajya Sabha debate on'Bhopal Gas Trgedy' on television and I was fairly shocked by the way "the elders conducted themselves in the upper house of the Parliament".
It is just "Shameful".
The only saving grace was 'Mr Arun Jaitley' of BJP and our own honest & eloquent
(Harvard graduate) Union Home Minister,Mr Chidambaram.
The antics of Mr Rajeev Pratap Rudy in Rajya Sabha is shameful.Anyway,in terms of conduct,not much is expected of Mr Rajeev Pratap Rudy.
How is your mother,Mr Rajeev Pratap Rudy.Please take a few tips on etiquette from Mr Arvind Singhji.
Mr Suresh Kalmadi,you are an incorrigible liar.The other day,I was sitting in the evening with a NRI friend of mine and watching the news on 'Times Now'.
And my NRI friend said,"Oh fuck! Suresh Kalmadi is involved in an act of corruption which involves Rs 24.6 Crores".
And I said,"All this corruption has been done in the name of Emergency Procurement".
You know Mr Suresh Kalmadi,on thursday(12.08.2010) I was feeling very miserable because I had to borrow a small amount of money from my "retired father & mother".And my father & mother were gracious enough to lend the money to me.But still,I am feeling miserable & guilty because I should not borrow money from my "retired father & mother".And I intend to return 'every penny which I have borrowed from my retired father and mother".

Today BJP probably had a trade off with the government that they are willing to discuss the issue of price rise without voting in the temple of parliament,if the government slowed down investigation of Amit Shah option.

My comments about Mr Rahul Mahajan option would be that'he is a spoilt son of the equally spoilt Mr Pramod Mahajan option'.
I am sure Mr Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Mr Nitin Gadkari of BJP would agree with me.
Today,the names 'Rahul,Priyanka and Sonia'have become very common.There is 'Sonia Singh in NDTV'.Another Sonia in Aaj Tak.
And God knows 'how many Sonias,Rahuls,and Priyankas on the streets of India'.
WHY!
And the answer I got was that in some ways these people want to identify themseves with the powerful"Mrs Sonia Gandhi,Mr Rahul Gandhi,and Mrs Priyanka vadhera'.
My friends compare Mr Rahul Mahajan option with Mr Rahul Gandhi.And you will get to know their respective 'true worth in terms of conduct,inegrity,and sensibility.'
Mr Nitin Gadkari this Pramod Mahajan clan option has become a liability for BJP.I am sure Atalji will agree with me.
Sonia aunty is fortunate to have a worthy son like"Rahul Gandhi".I am sure Mr Nitin Gadkari will agree with me on this.
Mr Nitin Gadkari,please control the malaria & Swine flu called Mr Rahul Mahajan option.
And Mr Union Finance Minister'Why don't you investigate Bollywood option for financial irregularities'.
